After a much too long hiatus, Washington D.C.'s own cult figure Osiris Marsh returned to the music last year, with the release of his soulful, 3-tracks maxi CD single "Forever". A true gem which really brought back the "Soul" in Soul music; the maxi contained "Dreamin'", "Wynds Of Time" and "Touch Me", which really showcased Osiris' incredible voice and song writing skills, both deeply rooted in the classical R&B tradition. While waiting for Osiris next record, which he assures will be a naasty Funk jam, and a "Best Of" set you can hear both Osiris' legendary Funk monster "Gritt On It", plus his latest CD in Real Audio. A bio on this fascinating Soul survivor, a man whose career goes back more than twenty years in the recording industry, is also available.

Ann Peebles

The St. Louis-born Ann Peebles possesses a voice unlike any other. To the general public, this rather shy and petite Southern belle's name is primarily associated with her 1973 smash "I Can't Stand The Rain", but those who dote on Deep Soul know that there is much, much more where that came from. "I Can't Stand The Rain" was not Ann's first hit on Memphis' legendary Hi record label, but it was the one that defined the Hi sound worldwide. Ann (who actually was signed to Hi before Al Green) still performs and records consistently to this day.
